What is /u/PlaystationBot?

/u/PlaystationBot is a Reddit bot that posts pricing and trophy information about PlayStation games. It is powered by PlatPrices, an independent PlayStation Store price tracker, so every figure it quotes — the price, the discount, the all-time low, the trophy breakdown — comes straight from our database.

When summoned, it replies with a game’s current PlayStation Store price (with the discount and whether it is an all-time low), its OpenCritic score, the full trophy breakdown, the platinum difficulty and an estimated time‑to‑platinum — plus a link to the game’s full price history, trophy guide and price alerts on PlatPrices.

When does PlaystationBot appear?

There are three ways to make PlaystationBot appear:

  1. It scans new submissions to r/Trophies and tries to post a game’s trophy and price information whenever a game-specific post is made. This works when the game’s name appears in square brackets at the start of the post’s title, as is the convention in that subreddit.
  2. It similarly scans other PlayStation subreddits, such as r/PS5, for platinum screenshot posts and posts trophy/price information when it seems relevant. The bot is much more selective about this than it is in r/Trophies.
  3. In PlayStation subreddits (for example r/PS5 and r/PS4Deals) you can summon it on demand with the !PlaystationBot command followed by a game name. That command must be the only content of your comment.

How to summon it

Basic summon

Post a comment whose only content is !PlaystationBot Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The bot replies with that game’s price and trophy information.

Pick a region

Put a country’s 2-letter code between the command and the game name: !PlaystationBot GB Assassin’s Creed Valhalla shows the same trophies but the GB Store price.

Wrong info?

Don’t reply to the bot — replies go nowhere. Use the “fix it here” link in its comment; reports are processed automatically into the database.

What a reply looks like

A typical reply is a compact card — price first, then how good the game is, then the trophy specifics:

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

$14.99 $59.99 (-75%) · all-time low

OpenCritic: 81/100 (124 reviews)

79 trophies · 54 bronze · 19 silver · 5 gold · 1 platinum

Difficulty: Medium (5/10)  ·  Platinum in: ~60 h

Lines for missing data are dropped automatically, and when on-sale games are involved the bot can also attach a generated price card. If we have no trophy data yet, it says so honestly and links a 20-second form to add it.

Where does it get its information?

All of the price, price-history and trophy data comes from PlatPrices, which records the complete PSN price history of every PS4 and PS5 game across 40+ regional storefronts and flags genuine all-time lows. New PlayStation Store releases are picked up automatically, usually within about a day, so there is no need to message the bot about a missing game.

If you would like to use the same data in your own project, it is available through the PlatPrices developer API. PlatPrices is an independent project and is not affiliated with Sony or PlayStation.
